Executive Director, Yariv Abramovich, Adv., concludes his six years of service at Zalul
Executive Director, Yariv Abramovich, Adv., concludes his six years of service at Zalul after being appointed to a senior position overseas for Atlantium, a company engaged in water purification solutions around the world.

After six years of dedicated service to Zalul, Yariv has announced the end of his role as the Executive Director of the organization.  During his time at Zalul, Yariv was responsible for many environmental successes which have improved the quality of life in Israel and made the country safer for future generations.

During his time at Zalul, Yariv led the highly publicized campaigns to remove the fish cages from the Gulf of Eilat, the effort to end the sludge of the Shafdan sewage treatment plant, saving the Na'aman and Lachish Rivers, the fight for public transparency on the issuing of pollution permits, the public support and struggle to recognize the illnesses of the Shayetet naval forces unit as result of their training in the Kishon River and much more.

Yariv will continue his public activities as a member of Zalul's board and also as a member of the Inter-ministerial Sea Spillage Permit Committee and a member of the national committee for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). His most recent precedent-setting achievement was the creation of a policy for publicizing permits to discharge hazardous substances into the Mediterranean Sea in Israel's major newspapers.

Says Yariv, "It has been a great privilege to be part of such an extraordinary organization like Zalul this last half-decade and I thank the Kahn Family Foundation which has supported Zalul for so many years. I know that Zalul's important achievements will continue to improve the quality of Israel's environment and create an infrastructure for the continuation of the cause. I will continue to be committed to Zalul's environmental activities as I continue on my own path."

Says Zalul Chairman, Benjie Kahn: "Yariv led Zalul to monumental achievements using techniques which were previously found only in the private sector.  Zalul, under Yariv's leadership was a strong force against industry and regional governments, who learned that environmental protection must be an important part of their governance."
